Kyanite Pendant
This a relatively new cabochon on the market that is somewhat hard to come by because of its highly prized “chatoyancy” – cat’s eye effect – the property in some crystals of transmitting different colors when viewed along different axes. The faceted version became available only two years ago and very hard to find today due to the difficulty in cutting it. As a faceted gemstone it is a deep blue, almost sapphire color and does not have the cat’s eye affect.
This piece of Kyanite comes from Brazil, and is set in Argentium™ Sterling Silver with my “Hidden Bail™” that enables use of an omega, thick chain or thinner chain, (sold separately).
